Toronto Symphony Wine Auction
Imagine your delight sipping a fine wine, say a 1990 Chateau Cheval Blanc or a 1999 DRC Richebourg, that you acquired at auction for a fraction of its appraised value. This fantasy could become reality by attending the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s Annual Fine Wine Auction on Thursday, November 8.
Discover the many gems from around the world that will be up for auction this fall. Share the wine list with your friends, colleagues and followers. We are at:
The complete auction catalogue will be available for download on October 1.
This year’s auction will take place at CIBC, Commerce Court West, 56th floor, 199 Bay Street, Toronto beginning at 6:30 pm. Stephen Ranger, one of Canada’s leading auctioneers, will conduct the auction. While there is no charge to attend the event, we encourage advance registration. Please contact Linda McGeown at the Toronto Symphony Volunteer Office, 416.593.7769, ext. 359 or [email protected] to register.
Wine buyers at the TSO Fine Wine Auction pay only the hammer price on purchases. There are no additional taxes, fees or commissions (compared to an additional 32% you would pay at the Vintages auction) because our auction is formally recognized as a charity auction. Since interprovincial shipping of wine is now sanctioned by bill C-311, oenophiles outside Ontario will be able to phone in bids on the splendid offerings. Look into your provincial restrictions for further details.
There’s still time to become a wine donor. As a donor you will receive:
– A tax receipt based on the appraised value of the wine.
– Recognition in the wine auction catalogue.
– An invitation to an exclusive TSO rehearsal.
– Two complimentary tickets to a TSO concert if the donation is valued at more than $1,500.
To make a donation, please contact Linda McGeown at 416.593.7769, ext. 359 or [email protected]. Donations are picked up and stored free of charge by Iron Gate, our wine storage facility.
When you donate or purchase wine you will be supporting the TSO, one of Canada’s major cultural organizations. The proceeds of the auction are used to support our extraordinary orchestra as well as its education and outreach programs. Thank you in advance for your support.
