The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life is Canada’s most important HIV/AIDS annual fundraising and awareness event. This year, the Walk takes place from September 17-25, in over 50 communities across Canada.
As many as 68,000 Canadians live with HIV/AIDS. Another person is infected every two hours. There is no cure or vaccine. That’s why people from coast to coast are walking this September to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and funds. More than half a million Canadians have participated in the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life.
Santa Margherita is the Platinum Sponsor of the 2011 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life in Canada. This is their fifth year of involvement. They were recognized by the Canadian AIDS Society in 2010 with the Corporate Leadership Award. In addition to the sponsorship, Santa Margherita donates funds from each sale of their popular Pinot Grigio during specified periods across the country during the summer prior to the Walk events.
Funds raised through the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life and the Santa Margherita donation program help provide housing, food, medication, counseling and other support to Canadians living with HIV/AIDS, while providing prevention and education to at-risk groups.
