In celebration of National Hamburger Day, pair this savoury recipe for Blue Cheese Hamburger with the full-bodied red wine, such as Shiraz, Cabernet or Malbec.

Serves: 6
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds of lean ground beef
2 ounces of crumbled blue cheese
¼ cup of minced fresh chives
1/8 teaspoon of hot pepper sauce
½ teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon of coarsely-ground black pepper
¾ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of dry mustard
6 hamburger buns
Directions:
Mix the ground beef, blue cheese, chives, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt and mustard in a large bowl then cover it, and put it in the fridge for two hours.
Pre-heat your grill on a high heat setting.
Divide and shape the burger mixture into six patties.
Brush your grill grate with cooking oil then grill patties for about five minutes on each side, or until they are well done. Serve on hamburger buns.
