We continue our discussion with Grant Burge or Grant Burge Wines Australia and his two wines the Summer Chardonnay and the Miamba Shiraz.
Below you’ll also find reviews for two of the wines that we discussed.
You can also watch part one of our conversation.
Grant Burge Summers Chardonnay Barossa Valley, Australia
Love the hazelnut richness and green apple vibrancy that mingle on the nose of this wine! The palate is a rush of white peach, nectarine and nutmeg with refreshing lime acidity on the finish. I love the back story on this wine: it was named in honour of the winery’s accountant of 30 years, Miles Summers. His sun will never set with this wine. Food matches: roast chicken, lobster in butter, corn dishes. Drink: 2012 – 2014 269829 13.5% D 750 ml $19.95 Score: 91/100.
Grant Burge Miamba Shiraz Barossa Valley, Australia
Lots of toasty oak and black fruit on the nose. Full-bodied, smooth and savoury. A long, satisfying finish with dark spices and black pepper. Drink: 2012 – 2021 284091 14% XD 750 ml $21.95 Score: 90/100.
