Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Stunning! Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), blended with 10% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, this wine spent 19 months in French oak. Thee resulting wine has lovely aromas of ripe and dried currant, blackberry, and black cherry, melded with notes of eucalyptus, cigar box, leather, and spicy smoke. Full bodied, with dry, grippy tannins, voluptuous rounded fruit on the palate, with bright acidity, and a smoky finish with lots of dried herb and leather notes. Tons of life in this wine, but also built to age. You can enjoy this over the next decade and be sure to accompany it with a beautiful grilled striploin, or lots of savoury, bold salumi and the oldest cheddar you can find. Decant for at least an hour.
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A blend of 74% Cab, 10% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 5% Cab Franc and 4% Petit Verdot with 19 months of French oak and a 14.5% alcohol, this wine has the makings to taste as delicious as it does. Dark and brooding with chewy licorice, some beef stock reduction and a meaty note, alongside cherries and black jam. An all round winner. Try with grilled strip loin with pink peppercorn sauce. @wrightwineblog
Wow! From Napa Valley, California St. Supéry Élu 2015 is a 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot red wine blend with estate-grown, sustainably-farmed and certified Napa Green wine grapes sourced from the winery's Rutherford Estate and Dollarhide Estate Vineyards and created by Michael Scholz and renowned Winemaker, Michel Rolland. On the nose, fragrant blackberry, plum, espresso, vanilla and smoky aromas waft from the wine glass. Dry with juicy flavours of ripe plum, ripe cassis, anise, cake spice and toasty oak flavours silky and elegant on the palate. Grapes were hand-harvested and hand-sorted with three per cent of the berries put to French oak barrels (43% new) where they underwent natural fermentation. The wine is aged 19 months in barrel. "Élu" means the "chosen" and I choose this wine to drink in 2021. - Community Wine Reviews
