Black cherry liqueur flavours run through the heart of this rich, full-bodied red. Terrific intensity.

Foch food pairings: roasted duck breast, vanilla and fennel polenta, leg confit croquettes and duck jus.

Reviews and Ratings

Lesley Quinn - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

I love getting to try out lesser known varietals like Foch. This Old Vine wine has many followers and I can see why. Dark rich smoky leather aromas jump out of the glass, at you. The wine is sweaty like a Bordeaux but tart like a Sangiovese. I think it could make a fabulous winter stew wine or even a great companion to a strong Blue Cheese.
Named for the French World War I hero,
General Ferdinand Foch, Marechal Foch grapes produce an intense and full bodied red wine. This Old Vines Foch was harvested in October 2009 from 27 year old vines in our Osoyoos vineyard. This site provides maximum heat during the growing season and produces very ripe, concentrated fruit picked at over 28 Brix, creating a classic Marechal Foch. Fermented to near dryness and aged in American oak barrels for 18 months, this wine will improve for
up to 5 years.
