Delicious dessert wine!
Sweet honey, intense aromas of roses. Flavors of very rich and ripe lychee and cooked berries, figs.
Sweet but not too sweet, good balance of fruity acidity. Long divine finish.

As i sat with my basket of Halloween goodies, it occurred to me, as it often does ... "there's got to be a wine that goes with this!" in my search, a most fortuitous - and spooky - little Black (Mus)Cat crosses my path ... my assortment of goodies fared witchingly! my top three favorite pairings follow:
1. The classic sweet and sour rolled sugar candy Rockets: the sugar in the candy lifts the sweet raspberry flavours in the wine, and the wine seems to tone the sour acidity in the candy. (Sip, crunch. Sip, crunch ... It's coming to get you Barbara!)
2. Next: dark chocolate Almond Joy. An epiphany and a manifestation in one: the array of complex flavours come together to create its own unique profile - creamy, succulent and balanced, with chocolatey raisins on the back - the bitter dark chocolate, i suspect, pulling some nice dried fruit notes - and layers of berry fruit echoing (like a disembodied voice) in the finish.
3. Last but not least, a Candy Apple: the crispy crunch of the coating makes way for a burst of fresh apple beneath, and the confluence of the sweet wine coaxes a spicy complexity from the apple. Spun sugar and mouth-watering tartness balance each other perfectly, with the wine bringing an almost pie-like spiciness into the palate, finishing clean with a ripe berry punch. Clearly, a zombie-eating no-brainer. ***Scary good.
Note to self: remember to buy more candy before Halloween!

Usually I'm not a big fan of the very sweet wines. However, this is an excellent dessert wine that combines the sweetness of dark berries with a bit of Rhubarb tartness. Very complex and really delicious.
Deep garnet violet color. Deep aromas of black raspberry coulis, plum chutney, and fig paste with a sweet medium-to-full body and a long, rich and tangy dried berry and flower accented finish. Delicious. Exceptional. Score: 91 Source: Tastings.com
