Juicy, dark pleasure in a glass! Full-bodied with black fruit, anise, pepper and smoke aromas. This is an even blend of grenache and syrah grapes. Terrific concentration, depth and balance from one of the most respected producers in the Rhone. This wine opens up with decanting and you will open up with this wine. Try it.

Food pairings: gourmet hamburgers, meat lovers' pizza.

Alex: Pure and simple unoaked red, of herb-spiced plums and cherries with a hint of baking chocolate. Quite ripe, with a fair bit of pepper, waxy young fruit, and soft stone minerality. Simple but flavourful palate, with lots of spice, and 14.5% alc well balanced. Finishes on minerality, pepper and green onion. Delicious dinner wine, and a fine grab at $21. 87 pts

Priya: Warm garnet color - my birthstone. Tart and tangy like sour cherries or pomegranate. Smells of warm, savoury cumin, and not a lot else going on. Seems like it would go well with Indian food because of the warm spicy nose but at 14.5% alc it's way too strong. A nice Vouvray would be a better choice with your Aloo Gobi! 85 pts
This full-bodied red wine is a evenly split blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes that are grown at 400 meters altitude, above sea level. This full-bodied French red wine from the Rhone Valley is a blend of 50/50 Syrah and Grenache grapes. The 2011 Famille Perrin Vinsobres Les Cornuds offers aromas of black raspberry, cedar and violets.
