From Paso Robles wine region, Daou 2020 Rosé is produced by proprietors, Georges and Daniel Daou. The Grenache Noir (95%) and Sauvignon Blanc (5%) are sourced from steep, clay-and-limestone mountain slopes rising over the Coastal Range. Produced in the Provence rosé wine style, this is a dry, fragrant and juicy rosé with fresh strawberry, stone fruit, pear, rose petal, tropical fruit notes finishing with a lemon meringue minerality. Chill and sip with grilled calamari.

Rosé food pairings: salads, fresh steamed shrimp, creamy cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

What I like most about this copper coloured rosé was its beautiful, exuberant aromas. They bring to mind fresh tangerine, stone fruit, honeydew melon and light touches of wild flowers. It’s flavours evoke citrus and strawberries, complimenting the scents nicely.

This creation from California’s Paso Robles viticultural area feels lovely. Light to medium bodied, crisp, dry, light touch texture.

It was crafted Grenache Noir and Sauvignon Blanc (95/5). Enjoy.

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Gettins ready for summer, the Daou 2020 Rose will be a great addition to the upcoming patio season. Produced in the Paso Robles region, this Rosé offers aromas of marmalade, pink grapefruit, orange peel, rhubarb, rose petal and celery. This Provence style Rosé shows a medium body, sharp acidity, and a long and round finish. Palate: sour cherry, peach, citrus blossom, pink peppercorn and orange peel. Enjoy.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This lovely Rosé is 95% Grenache with 5% Sauvignon Blanc that gives it an edginess that puts this into the serious wine category. The nose is slightly floral with delicate hibiscus and dried strawberry notes over hints or minerality. It is medium bodied after some barrel aging on the lees, with strawberry and peach on the palate. It is a great, dry approachable blend of restrained fruit and some very interesting savoury notes. It is enjoyable on its own but would also be great with salmon or trout. Tasted April 2022 thewineloverskitchen.com
