Reviews and Ratings

Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Nose: smoky, meaty, black currant, cassis, lavender, dried savoury herbs, licorice, slate
Palate: more stewed black fruit, smoky, meaty, black pepper, leather, spice, full bodied, gripping tannins, lingering herby finish
Pair with: roasted & grilled red meats, such as braised lamb shanks
Pam Hatton rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

All the great complexity a Chateau Neuf should bring with black fruit, lavender, herbs and licorice. The full bodied palate with integrated tannins show the black fruit, minerality and spice. Delicious
Colleen Fitzgibbons rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Complex aromas that make you ease back in your chair, slow down and ponder life. At first coffee, chocolate, rich ripe plums and mushroom but as you come back to the glass there's a freshness too. Eucalyptus, rosemary, ripe blackberries and raspberries.
Bright on the palate tangy cherry and raspberry. Full bodied with smooth round tannins and bright acidity that give this wine structure. So much going on the glass you'll want to savour this one. Pair with warm winter lamb braised with plenty of herbs.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is a high-quality CdP, with lots of red briar, ripe plum, garrigue, baking spice, fig paste and roasted chestnut. 93 Points.
Wineboy rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

From that great French vintage. Delivers on the bouquet, fruit, soft herbs, sweet core of black and red fruit. Textures are lovely and glycerine. Softer structure in terms of tannins but full weight of alcohol (14.5%) will keep this one aging nicely. Drink now or age til 2024. I predict it will peak around 2022.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Rich, supple, layered seduction in a glass. Dark fruit, herbal garrique, anise, violet, leather, oak notes unfold on satiny palate. Excellent gift wine.
Tasted Nov. 2018
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The aromas of this wine make you want to say Chat'Ooh.. as you sit back and enjoy soft aromas of fig, vanilla and baking spice. Flavours of oak, vanilla, and soft cherry. Complex, smooth and long lingering finish with firm tannins. Already enjoyable and I would love to see how this one only gets better with time.

Pair well with hard cheeses or steak.

At this price point, would be a great gift wine or special occasion wine. As it's drinkable for the next 5-10 years, this would make a great wedding gift with a note to tell the happy couple not to open it on their 5th anniversary.

Samer Forzley rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

On the nose: Cherry, strawberry jam, vanilla, floral, coffee, pepper, baking spice

Taste: Stewed cherry, strawberry jam, plums, and spice.

This is a big wine with a long finish. Present tannins and high acid to balance it. Best enjoyed with a steak or grilled pork.
Luc Delorme rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A nice, bold, regional-typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Opens up on the nose with dark plum, Expertly balanced acidity and tannins in this wine that comes through as less dry than it truly is. Smooth and velvety, with dark plum, pepper, vanilla and a bit of toffee for good measure. Excellent now, but likely to get even better with a few years in the cellar.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is a good CdP. 2015 is a warm vintage for Souther Rhone but this wine doesn't show the heat at all. Rich, concentrate, but not overly sweet. Medium + structure and long and grippy tannin. A great wine for the price and lay down for a few years.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Just beautiful! Dark fruit, smoke, currant, pepper, fig, tobacco and a hint of violets. Full bodied with a bit of heat on the back of the palate. Nice balance of fruit, leather and earthy notes and a lengthy finish. Could enjoy this for the next 5-8 years easily. Enjoy with prime rib.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A fresh, vibrant fruit-forward chateneuf du pape. Plum and berry chutney with floral violet notes, anise, smoke and bloody copper touches. Lovely flavours, blackcurrant, strawberry. Dried fruit with wet gravel and gentle smoke. Beautiful! This will be awesome with dried smoked prosciutto or duck breast. 92 points - tasted November 2018
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Both velvety and structured, this wine has inviting aromas of strawberry, cherry, cinnamon, and violets; ample acidity; white pepper, mint and basil. I would pair with a cheese tray to let this beautiful wine shine!
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From the left bank of the Rhone, between Orange and Avignon, Chateau Mont-Redon 2015 reveals aromas of strawberry, dark cherry, tobacco, pepper, toast, almond and oak. Full body with a medium finish, this Chateauneuf du Pape shows young acidity and supple tannins. On the palate, tart cherry, strawberry, fresh cut herbs, black pepper, mineral, cinnamon and oak. Pair with sausage and cheese. Enjoy.
From Abeille-Fabre, Chateau Mont-Redon 2015 is a seductive and smoky Chateauneuf du Pape with meaty, figgy, ripe raspberry, blackberry, garrigue herbs and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Great cellaring candidate. Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
