Spy Valley Envoy Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Waihopai Valley, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: From Johnson Vineyard, Waihopai Valley, Marlborough wine region, Spy Valley Envoy 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is dry, medium-bodied and complex with layers of white-fleshed stone fruit, ginger, fine herb and lemon-lime zest flavours. Grapes were barrel-fermented, and the wine was matured on its lees for 11 months in oak barrel giving this delish SB, creamy, rounded with flinty mineral notes long and fresh on the palate. Elodia Single Vineyard Los Chacayes Malbec 2018, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina: Elodia Los Chacayes 2018 Malbec is sourced from a single vineyard in the Uco Valley. Finca Mantrax is located in the Los Chacayes zone, a cool-climate vineyard about 1,300 meters above sea level made up of stony, clay and sandy soils that have travelled down the mountain's hillside. The wine is dry, medium-bodied and vibrant with dark berry, wild flowers and wild herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy. A good cellaring candidate for five plus years. Drink or hold.
