Reviews and Ratings

Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Starts with a lovely aroma of vanilla and then a great mix of red fruit. Medium body and full flavour. Tasting Jan 31/16
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby/purple with with notes of plum, cherry cassis, vanilla, herbal. Medium-bodied with drying tannins and bright acidity. Lingering drying finish. Has potential to age. Suggest decanting if you enjoy this wine today. Good value.
Tasted: January 2016
Brian Gray Hamilton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A nose of dark berries, toasted oak and cocoa. Palette is juicy, dense and fruity with ample but fine tannins, plush and persistent finish. A little more freshness from greater acidity would have made this wine even better with food but a very good value and enjoyable quaff!
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark berry-cassis and deep dark chocolate on nose and palate. Big-bodied with tenacious tannins and a generous finish. Put a few down for a year or so or pair tonight with the usual suspects - steak or roast beef; or try rosemary-balsamic lamb chops with garlic mash, yum!
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Terra D’uro Finca La Rana Toro 2011 features aromas and flavours of cherry, red berry fruit, vanilla and spice. Tasted on Janaury 31, 2016 (88/100)
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A dry, fragrant Spanish red with aromas and flavours of dark cherry, baking spices, oak and slight herbal touches. Good acidity. Very versatile with food choices.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Subtle aromas of raspberry and cassis. A little bit of grippy tannin on the palate, and flavours that follow the aromas. A nice red for roast turkey.
Terra d'Uro means "land of he bulls" and this wine is made with 100% Tinto de Toro grapes grown using sustainable methods from goblet-trained vines in the Finca la Rana estate. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. The 2011 vintage of the Finca La Rana is made from grapes grown on vines planted ungrafted 25 years ago. - Community Wine Reviews
