A full-bodied Rioja red blend of mostly Grenache with some Tempranillo (8%). Fragrant with pink rose and ripe red berry fruit aromas on the nose, supple with bright cherry, red berry and toasty oak spice flavours on the palate with great acidity for food. Drinking lovely now. Pair with roasted gamebirds.

Food pairings: roast chicken, roast leg of lamb, grilled pork ribs, beef stews.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

A value offering from wine legend Alvaro Palacios, this is floral and pretty with roses and fresh red berries in a summer pudding. Beautifully balanced fresh fruit with perfumed oak - ready to drink. Try with star anise duck salad. @wrightwineblog
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This wine is testament to the attention to detail that Alvaro Palacios is famous for. Beautiful aromas of fresh raspberry and violets eventually give way to hints of chocolate. Red plum, red cherry and violets play on the palate of this Grenache dominated blend. Tannins are a bit grippy -this wine is no wimp. Overall well balanced with a long, delicious finish. Excellent value. Tasted October 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Palacios Remondo La Montesa 2016 Crianza is a full-bodied Rioja red blend of estate-grown Grenache and some Tempranillo. Beautifully fragrant with rose petal, bright cherry and toasty oak spice aromas on the nose. Bright and juicy with red berry, red plum, savoury herb, baking spice and toasty oak flavours on the palate. Delish now. Enjoy with grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
