Zippy and refreshing with aromas of lime and grapefruit. Ends on an up note of lime and lemon zest and springtime energy. Cool climate viticulture from the North Island shows through in this zesty Pinot Grigio. Bone-dry with lime lift through the mid-palate. Good mouth-watering acidity for seafood or an aperitif.

Pinot Grigio food pairings: grilled lake fish, garden salad, shellfish, chicken cacciatore, spaghetti.

Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Cool climate Pinot Grigio from the New World. North Island New Zealand Pinot Grigio offers up lots of aromas - citrus, tropical fruit and mineral. Light and crisp with a long lemon finish. Beautiful mouth feel for a wine with lots of acidity. Oyster Bay doesn't disappoint.
Shelley Harris rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A medium-bodied Pinot Grigio with critusy and sweet aromas and tastes of lemon and pears. A bright wine that would pair well with a Greek salad, full of feta cheese and basil, served with fried calamari.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This light-bodied Pinot Grigio from Hawkes Bay NZ would be a crowd pleasing aperitif at your next summer BBQ. Very nice tropical notes in this dry wine as well as floral, apple, peach, honey and melon. Medium+ cleansing acidity with a slight effervescence detected. Long tropical finish.Excellent price/quality ratio. This is a buy a case wine. Serve well chilled.

Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Brilliant and pale straw in colour with citrus and tropical fruit aromas and a nice accompanying minerailty. The citrus really follows through on the palate and it ends with a medium to long finish. This NZ Pinot Grigio is medium bodied and has medium levels of acidity, which complement the citrus flavours. A great summer wine, not just for the Pinot Grigio lovers and reasonably priced.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A Pinot Grigio from the Hawke's Bay region that does not disappoint. Oyster Bay produces some consistent product year over year and this particular Pinot Grigio is sure crowd pleaser. Rich notes of lemon zest and on the nose, with a hint of peach. There is a great blend of citrus and tropical fruit on the palate with a juicy acidity and a lingering finish.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From New Zealand's Hawkes Bay region, this refreshing Pinot Grigio has delicate pear and apple on the nose, with a palate giving peach, pear and apple. Good acidity- and a long white fruit finish. A go-to white that everyone will enjoy.

Lots of bright citrus on the nose, with light hints of honey, apples, and white flowers. Repeats on the palate, along with peach/apricot notes. Medium-light bodied, with vibrant acidity balancing the sweetness nicely.

Apple, melon and pear notes with a touch of minerality and a bit of lemon on the palate. Ends with a long finish.

Clean moderate notes of citrus blossoms, tropical fruit (pineapple, passion fruit) and steely minerality. Palate is dry, refreshing and crisp. Enjoy this light bodied wine grilled seafood.

The 2014 vintage shows brilliant Pale straw and 13% ABV. Yielding from Hawkes Bay NZ, this is a crisp and refreshing cold climate wine. Medium acidity, medium - fruit intensity showing lemon and lime zest, white Lilly floral notes and a hint of herbaceousness. This wine is a value priced crowd pleaser and offering festive refreshment. Enjoy 2015.
