Chateau Ste. Michelle 2016 Riesling from the Columbia Valley, Washington is reminiscent of a warm spring rain. This is a great value Riesling under $20. So fresh, with white florals, citrus and Key lime zesty flavours on the palate, rounded with balanced acidity. Lots of racy juiciness on the palate for food like shellfish, smoked fish, creamy sauces or mild curries. Drink now and for the next three years.

Riesling food pairings: roast chicken, spicy pasta dishes, shrimp tempura, grilled salmon with lemon sauce, duck liver pate.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful fresh off-dry Riesling from the Columbia Valley. Lime zest, peach, with mouthwatering acidity. Great balance. Medium alcohol. Pairs well with curry or fried appetizers. Tasted 2016 vintage in October 2018. Good value. 90 points
Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Balance is on the more elegant side, with a softer sweetness in the 2016 than I remember in earlier years. This sweetness almost totally offsets a little nutty bitter note on the finish.
Chateau Ste. Michelle 2016 Riesling from the Columbia Valley, Washington is reminiscent of a spring rain on stones warmed by the sun. Nice play of lemon and lime on the nose as well. Great Value under $20. This Riesling is so fresh, with white florals, citrus and Key lime zest flavours on the palate, rounded with balanced acidity. Definitely pair with seafood. - Community Wine Reviews
