Mocha and dark chocolate from generous oak aging then step back to reveal dark fruit and spice on the palate. This wine needs serious cellar time then decanting before you enjoy it with hearty meat dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A blend of Cab Sauv blended with Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Syrah and a touch of Petit Verdot for a result that is greater than the sum of its parts, as the name implies. Wonderful dark berry and baking spice aromas, followed by a complex palate with raspberry jam, black currants, violets, cinnamon, cloves, licorice, smoke and espresso. Full-bodied and silky smooth with a finely nuanced finish. Bravo!

Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The name implies the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and that it is. This blend is primarily Cab Sauv with a little Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah thrown in for some spicy, juicy silkiness. Aromas of ripe plum, spice and leather are followed by flavours of black cherry, liquorice, cloves, and mocha. Smooth and bold right now, and if you can wait, cellaring it will further develop the flavours.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine is truly a tremendous blend! Merlot heavy, then comes the Cab Franc with an added Petit Syrah twist. Layers of vanilla, black cherry, cassis, leather, dark chocolate, and even some graphite (minerality) poetically conceive what is 'Quantum'. Full bodied, perfect acidity, and well integrated tannins - that you can definitely enjoy now! Make no mistake, this wine is still age worthy! Pair with a juicy fatty rib-eye!
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The Beringer Quantum 2010 is an amazing blend from the Napa Valley. This wine is both pleasing for the nose and palate. The dark cherry, dark chocolate, cherry and vanilla aromas will make you crave another sniff. On the palate, this full bodied wine is very smooth and will pair well with your New York Steak salad. (Score: 92, Nicholas Onischuk, Tasted April 14, 2015)
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

As the saying goes, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In the case of Quantum, the same rings true. This Napa twist on a Bordeaux blend sees some of the finest grapes from Napa blended to create a perfect harmony of texture, structure, flavours, and aromas. The nose shows dark cherry, heart warming baking spice, cacao, roasted beets, and violet. Big, layered, and built for enjoying with hearty dishes. Pair with spit-fired beef tenderloin, rib steaks, or hearty stews. Drink 2015-2025. Tasted April 2015. 92 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine exudes lushness with bold aromas of black cherry, earth, ripe plums, new leather and India ink. The black cherry competes with grippy tannins for the biggest first impression in the taste, with blueberries and a little mint making an appearance. The high acidity holds it together nicely and the finish is tannic juicy black cherry. As a fan of dark, tannic wines, I think I've found a new friend.
When tiny quantum units combine they create systems of tremendous value and complexity, according to the back label. The 2010 vintage of Quantum is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and remarkably this is the first vintage for this wine. Red Quantum is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Petite Sirah grapes. Great cellar candidate. - Community Wine Reviews
