In 1856, Zenas Howard followed the rugged Oregon Trail west to settle in Oregon’s Rogue Valley. Five generations later, his descendants celebrate his pioneering tradition with Zenas Wines. Each limited production wine showcases a single award-winning Oregon vineyard.

Zenas Wines is dedicated to developing world class wines in Old World styles. We showcase the highest quality hand-selected fruit from award-winning Oregon vineyards. We carefully craft each Zenas wine to capture the subtle soil and unique climate characteristics found in each of these vineyards.

The flagship wine from Zenas, the Zenas Meritage, was inspired by renowned wines of Bordeaux’s “Right Bank”. Our Meritage is a select barrel blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot aged more than 14 months in exclusively French oak. Rich dark fruit and mocha blend into an opulent and lingering finish.

Zenas Cabernet Franc is full-bodied with rich, dense currant, herb, and distinctive pepper-spice character. Our Cabernet Franc picks up a hint of black fruit on the finish, and pairs well with grilled lamb and game.

Zenas Merlot combines beautiful fruit and oak flavors in a lush but firmly structured style. A palette of vanilla, cherry, and cedar leads to a silky chocolate note on a balanced and shaped finish.

Zenas Riesling displays apricot and tropical fruit with a classy citrus edge. Subtle spice and mineral notes complement the long finish and lively acidity recognized in refined German-style Riesling.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
