Woodland Vineyard is a small family-owned and operated vineyard and farm winery located in Midlothian VA near the Swift Creek Reservoir. Woodland Vineyard currently produces approximately 2 tons of estate-grown grapes and 200 cases of wine annually, qualifying as the state's smallest farm winery. The vineyard is situated on a small 1/2 acre plot on the family property, which also houses a small winery, an indoor tasting room, several picnic tables and an outdoor patio for guests.

The first vines at Woodland Vineyard were planted in 1997 by owners Melissa and Eric (meet the family). Melissa had begun making wine several years prior, and quickly realized the importance of grape quality and consistency. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a full-scale business, and in the summer of 2004, daughter Megan and her husband John officially joined the venture. Woodland Vineyard officially opened its door (and its bottles) for business in December 2004 with its first annual Holiday Open House.

In the summer of 2008, Woodland Vineyard expanded its vineyard to Amelia, where 1,000 additional vines were planted on a newly-aquired lot.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
