Founded in 1983, Wimberley Valley Winery employs imaginative, creative processes to reach out to all types of people, even those who normally “don’t like wine.” These processes are combined with traditional techniques to formulate a distinctive style that has been recognized in numerous wine competitions throughout the years. We are sure to have something for all palettes of type, taste and calibers of refinement.

The original Wimberley Valley Wines production building was built just North of Wimberley off Ranch Road 12. Ties to the landscape and alluring beauty of the hill country has kept winery pretty much in place. Operating a wine production facility in a “dry” precinct has presented its challenges, so, a tasting room was opened in the cozy, historic Old Town Spring in Spring, Tx. Click here for map and directions to the Tasting Room. Since its opening the shop and its wines have become increasingly popular.

Wimberley Valley Winery produces a number of fine varietals and table wines, as well as our widely popular flavored and fruit wines. We select juices, fruit and wines for blending based on strict criteria from both in and outside of Texas which allows for the creation of the finest and most distinct wines possible.

Our craftsmanship as well as our passion can be attributed to our inspiration which comes directly from the picturesque Texas Hill Country. Our current production facility is located between the small towns of Driftwood and Wimberley just six miles off Ranch Road 12 on Lone Man Mountain Rd. The winery resides on thirty acres of land adjacent to a cozy double rock wall cottage house, in which the wine maker takes residence.

The construction of the winery itself began in the winter of 1982. Building additions and production volume expansions have continually been planned and executed throughout the years. Today, the winery is capable of storing and fermenting 25,000 gallons of handcrafted Texas Hill Country wine using temperature controlled stainless steel cooperage to precisely control the production and quality of the wines. The abundant tank capacities combined with the temperature controlled warehouse allow the wines to mature to award-winning quality.

If passing through Spring at any time of the year, come on in and have a sample on us. We’ll be happy to fill your glass with warm, hill country hospitality and make you feel right at home.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
