– Higher altitude means more intense UV exposure promoting ripeness and concentrated flavors.
– Hillside vineyards have poor water retention leading to smaller clusters and lower yields.
– More skin to pulp contact equals more intese and powerful flavors with better structure.
– Hillside vines search deep for water through layers of different soil types adding complexity to the finished wines.
