We are artists, farmers, chemists, parents, and friends. We are grateful. We are small but on the verge of something big. We are believers in sustainability. We are in awe of our children. We are optimistic, passionate and curious. We are laborers, visionaries, and good dinner guests. We are aware we should be doing more. We are dedicated to creating beautiful wines from the ground up. We are up for the challenge. We are Scott and Viquel Hawley, our two boys and Aaron and Vickie Adams. We are family and together we are Torrin. We don’t make wines the right way or the wrong way. We simply make them our way. Intense fruit and ripe tannins are our friends and we have nothing but respect for those donning purple teeth. As you look at the wines below please note our production is ridiculously small and the dreaded allocation is on the horizon. Therefore, please keep in mind customer sales history will serve as our primary means of determining allocation for future releases.Akasha 2007
Akasha is a word that represents the belief in an element from which all other natural elements; earth, wind, fire, and water are derived. For us at Torrin, Syrah was the element that drew us into the Templeton Gap and what is now Torrin Vineyard. From that, Grenache, Mourvedre, and other Rhone Varietal based wines have gloriously emerged. Mother nature deals us a new hand each year so while it may not be 100% Syrah, “Akasha” has settled into our portfolio as our Syrah dominate blend.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

  Best Books of the Year

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
