When husband and wife team Sandy Garber and Ralph Meyer settled in Southern California's Topanga Canyon, their sights were not set on the vineyard way of life. As they looked around the rolling hills of their quiet surroundings, better known as a Hollywood hideaway than an agricultural hotbed, they began to see their home as Los Angeles County's answer to the Southern Rhône Valley. So began the planting, first 90 vines on their canyon property and then expanding into a grower's co-op with friends and neighbors. However, these grapes were reserved for home winemaking and entertaining, while Garber and Meyer extended their enterprise into the Central Coast. Their fast-growing commercial venture, under the TV label, combines the couple's experience in home winemaking with fine fruit sourced from Edna Valley, Clarksburg and the Napa Valley to produce distinctly Californian styles of Rhône-inspired wines.Sandy was the sales and marketing director for The Chalone Wine Group in California from 1982–1998. In additional to her day-to-day responsibility for Topanga Vineyards, she owns and manages Garber & Company, a wine distributorship in Los Angeles. Ralph works in the film industry as a location manager. Both worked as sommeliers in the '80s, Sandy at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel and Ralph at Michael's Restaurant in Santa Monica, before embarking on their current venture.

Topanga Vineyards world headquarters is located in Topanga Canyon, nestled in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
