“Tierra Encantada” means enchanted land. What better name for a winery located in the heart of Albuquerque’s South Valley, one of the oldest agricultural regions in New Mexico, “The Land of Enchantment.”

Stop by for a wine tasting and a tour of our winery. Don’t be surprised if we bend your ear about the grapes in our wines and our successes and difficulties in producing them. If you’re not a wine expert when you arrive, we want you to leave with at least one wine fact which will amaze your friends and increase your enjoyment of wine. If you’re already a wine expert, we hope to learn something from you so we can pass it on to the next customer.

Most of our wines are made using red and white vinifera grapes grown 50 miles south of the winery at our own San Vicente vineyard in Veguita. Our varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. We also purchase grapes from other growers mainly in the South Valley around Albuquerque. Those varietals include mostly French hybrid grapes including Chambourcin, Seyval, Vidal and Villard. We are proud of the quality of our unique, single vineyard wines and French hybrid blends which set us apart. Since our beginnings in 2005, our wines have won many medals in local, regional and national competitions. Our goal is to win many more.

We hope to see you at the winery, but you can also visit us and learn about our wines at many festivals, here on the web, and in your home through our Wine Club. We look forward to your visit.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
