In 1990, we purchased 10 acres along the Snake River in the Hagerman Valley. This beautiful area is noted for its premier terroir; fertile, sandy soil, hot summer days, and cool nights, an ideal place for growing premium wine grapes.
Our love of food, wine, and travels abroad to France, Italy, and Spain were the inspiration for our vineyard and winery. Initially we planted 300 Chardonnay vines. Three years later 1300 Syrah vines were planted, along with 400 more Chardonnay, and 100 Merlot. We use drip irrigation to conserve water and control pesky weeds. Organic fertilizer (fish emulsion) is used to refurbish the soil to its healthy, natural state. This approach; not only environmentally sensitive, has increased our production 3 fold and produced grapes of the highest quality.
Our Chardonnay undergoes cold fermentation and aging at 55 degrees for up to a year. We age our wines in Hungarian oak, considered to be the quality of French oak. Currently we are offering two varietals; a Chardonnay and Cabernet-Frac/Syrah blend. The first offering of our oak aged Syrah will be a 2005 vintage.
As a small vineyard and winery, we are able to oversee every detail of the process from grapes to wine. All of our grapes are hand picked. Our wine is produced, hand bottled, and corked on our property, creating an estate quality wine.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
