As you may know, from an earlier visit, Stone’s Throw Winery, located in the Sierra foothills at an elevation of 2,340 ft, is a growing, family owned winery located in Camino and the heart of Apple Hill. Our vines are hand tended by professionals to ensure the highest quality fruit. Our wines are produced in small batches in order to guarantee quality in all phases of our wine making, from vineyard to bottle. We think you will enjoy our wines, hand crafted in the old world style.

We are a “family friendly” winery, so stop by, say hey, stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery as you enjoy our hand crafted wines. Come for the wine, stay for the hospitality!

Our wines are also available at our two fine area restaurants, Poor Red’s Bar-B-Q and the world famous St Pauli Inn. Our wines are also available to ship, where permissible. Just email us or give us a call and we will be happy to oblige. Our winery structure was built in 1982 from steel beams brought in from a truck stop that was originally located in Idaho. It was intended to be a apple storage building (apple country, go figure). We converted it to a winery and have been improving it ever since.

The multi-use building has enough room for our short term expansion.

Step into our tasting room and you will understand the charm of our family owned winery, tucked away in the corner of Camino. When you find yourself looking around and thinking to yourself, wow, and all I thought grew up here were apples, remember, grapes grow great up here too!
We have had a wonderful growing season. Mother nature has been very kind to us. No late spring frost, no spring snow and hopes for a great harvest have sprouted.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
