Steinbeck Vineyards & Winery is a new venture for our six-generation Paso Robles family.

We use just 1% of our vineyard’s fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Viognier and Zinfandel are the varietals we’ve chosen to craft into 1,000 cases of wine.

Our winemaker, Steve Glossner, has also handcrafted a blend of these four varietals called “The Crash” beautiful wines which expresses Steinbeck in a glass. Our tasting room is built on the site of Grandpa Frank’s blacksmith shop. The exterior siding is the recycled material from the old shop. The museum-like interior houses the old wine press, the forge, musical instruments and many other historical pieces from our family's past.
Tim and Cindy (Steinbeck) Newkirk moved back home in 1997 after successful careers to help with the family's growing vineyard business. Tim serves as the Chief Financial Officer, Cindy as head of marketing and public relations. Their desire to create an expression of their passion for wine, together with their commitment to the success of Howie & Bev’s businesses led them to create Steinbeck Vineyards & Winery. The boutique tasting room and the CRASH COURSES at The WineYard at Steinbeck Vineyards in their expansive vineyards gives guests an opportunity to really know the family
Growing up Ryan always knew his dream was to work side-by-side with his Grandpa, Howie, in hopes of continuing the family legacy. In 2004, he left to attend California State University, Fresno where he met his wife Caitlin. He already has many years experience in viticulture and is Operations Manager for our vineyards.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
