Simmons Winery was opened in June of 2000. It is located on our 120 year old farm. We have 12 1/2 acres of grapes in production right now. Simmons Winery is a family run operation located near Columbus, Indiana with a wholesome family atmosphere. Our family has been selling produce for 50 years at various sites in Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Hope. We started growing grapes 10 years ago and started producing our own wine in 2001.

Simmons Vineyard covers 12 1/2 acres of land consisting of 8 different varieties of grapes. The first 4 acres were planted in the spring of 1998. More grapes were planted in 2002 and now an additional 2 acres in 2006.
Simmons Vineyard produced its first harvest in the fall of 2000. The estate wine include:Chardonel, Chardonel Vintner's Reserve (oaked), Vidal Blanc, and Chambourcin.

Simmons Winery hopes to have about 90% of the wine they sell produced from their own Estate grapes.

We have won many awards with our wine, and hope that you will continue your journey into our website and purchase these fine wines.

The Vineyard has 4 white grape varieties and 4 red grape varieties.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
