Tim Jochner serves as Wine Master and Proprietor at Shadowbrook Winery. Tim looks over all facets of the process starting in the vineyard with watering, pruning, spraying and calling the pick. Once picked, Tim determines the sort amount, yeast strain, nutrient level and maceration time. After fermentation, Tim chooses the barrel type and length of ageing and then off to bottling.

The wine maker and wine master produce the wine; it is the wine master who carries the ultimate responsibility for the quality of the finished product.I am thrilled to be a part of Tim Jochner’s elegant vision. Shadowbrook reminds me of the family owned wineries in the Napa Valley in the 1970’s… boutique, all about quality, with family and friends pitching in just for the delight of it.

Tim is doing a stellar job reintroducing this important historical appellation to the public. Shadowbrook wines are approachable, supple, unstuffy, and can stand up easily in quality to their Napa Valley counterparts.Mark Lavezzoli’s winemaking heritage dates back to the early 1900’s in the mountain towns of Trigilio and Ottone, just north of Genoa, Italy.

It was there that his grandfather created marvelous blends from his estate grown vines, supplying the surrounding towns with fine Lavezzoli vintages. This winemaking heritage has been passed down through the family and continues today through Mark’s efforts to improve and master this seductive craft.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
