RBZ Vineyard is located in the heart of the El Pomar district on the North-West corner of South El Pomar and Almond Drive, stretching across 114-acres with approximately 75% of the ground planted. This vineyard is one of kind for the area. RBZ was developed with Sunridge Nurseries, Inc. as the only commercial vineyard in the Paso Robles AVA that is also a State of California registered and certified nursery block. Material planted includes the highest quality UC Davis clones and many imported selections from the French Entav-Intra program. All Entav vine selections can be traced back to ONE original mother plant in France. Benefiting from the states largest diurnal temperature swings and linne calado topsoils paired diablo limestone subsoils similar to the soils in much of France, grapes planted here fully ripen with balanced sugar and acid flavors.

Winemaker Kevin Riley’s appreciation and passion for wine stem from his childhood spent working alongside his father and grandfather at Greens Farms Spirit Shop in Westport, Connecticut. Pursuing his own dreams, Kevin came to San Luis Obispo, California to attend and graduate from Cal Poly, with a degree in Agriculture Business. Kevin possesses a natural talent producing Zinfandel and Rhone wines and has spent more than 10 years perfecting winemaking and cellar experience throughout Paso Robles, California.

Sextant Wines has given Kevin the creative opportunity to unleash Paso Robles finest wine, and we have no doubt you will agree. We are confident and proud to have set sail on our journey with Kevin guiding at the helm.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
