He and I agreed on this just before its grand opening in the US, at the Miami Film Festival. At that time, he thought that the movie might open in 3 more cities, maybe 4. I am happy to say that while I have provided wine only in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami-- the movie has opened in a dozen or two more cities and opens in new ones every week. The movie is an unprecedented success and it has been an honor for my wines to be present at a few of the occassions which have celebrated
We worked hard for days on the harvest of 2009 Bokisch Verdelho and Phillips Farms Malvasia Nera, and then the gods of harvest gave us a great gift-- three or four days before bottling, fruit simply stopped ripening. This allowed us to put aside for a moment fruit to harvest and ferment, and, instead, prepare the finished wines calmly and carefully. We filtered some; simply racked and blended others. Everything went very well, all the way up and through the final act. We even finished early.
This is what we bottled on September 9 and released a month afterwards.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London
