Rusack Vineyards was established in 1995 by Geoff Rusack and Alison Wrigley Rusack with a commitment to creating world-class wines. The estate vineyards were originally planted about 30 years ago, but in early 2003 they were replanted using the latest in vineyard technologies and varietals best-suited to the relevant microclimates. As well as the estate vineyards, Rusack Vineyards continues to source classic varietal grapes from the some of the best vineyards in the area including neighbor vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley appellation and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Santa Rita Hills and the Santa Maria Valley.

Rusack was established in 1995 by Geoff Rusack and Alison Wrigley Rusack with a commitment to creating world-class wines. In the years since then, this dedication to quality has meant some dramatic changes at the winery. The new label was created by award-winning designer Jeff Caldewey, and features a beautiful Catalina tile as our logo. For us, Catalina tiles have always represented a tradition of hand-crafted excellence and creativity, originated and carried on by a small group of talented people who truly cared about what they did.

From the very first days of Rusack, we have worked hard to continue that tradition and express it in the quality of wine we produce. The most visible change is in the vineyard. Following the 2001 harvest, many of the original vines were pulled out and replanted under the guidance of winemaker John Falcone. Utilizing cutting edge technology and taking advantage of Ballard Canyon’s unique terroir, varieties to be grown were carefully chosen and limited to those clones best suited to the microclimate.Winemakers, John and Helen Falcone, joined Rusack Vineyards in 2001 as one of the few husband and wife winemaking teams in California. The Falcones’ decision to join Rusack Vineyards was prompted in large part by their desire to "get back to hand-crafting wines" and their belief that Santa Barbara County is now one of the best places for a small-production winery to live up to its potential for producing great wines.
In this small operation, the wines truly are made by hand, and the Rusacks’ commitment to quality is reflected in everything they do from the meticulous growing of their grapes to the distinctive design of their label.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
