Rock Canyon Vineyards started as a breeding ranch for Spanish Andalusian horses in 2000. That same year, my wife and I started experimenting with home wine making.
We planted our first vineyard of Zinfandel grapes in 2000. Over the years we have added Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Sangiovese.Like our love for the Andalusian horse, grapes and the production of fine red wines has become our passion.
Our philosophy is to provide consumers with a quality, handcrafted red wine. Although we grow several varieties, we strive to find old vine(mature) grapes throughout Southern California, to bring to you a mature, full bodied, delicious red wine.
We are considered a “Boutique or Cult Winery” due to our small size. With a small operation comes higher quality control, more attention to detail and a genuine love in the making of our wines.
*CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2007 - F.O. Aged with French oak, floated in stainless steel tanks to control the amount of oak flavor. This is a med. to light bodied red wine. With a mild hint of the French oak and the natural fruity characteristics, makes for a great summer red wine. Good with anything off the BBQ.
*CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008 - A.O. Aged in med. toasted American oak barrels. This wine has a wonderful nose. A bit fruit forward that blends well with the oak to bring forth a smooth finish. Goes great with Anything, Anytime!
*CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008 - H.O. Aged in Hungarian oak. Due to the type of oak, this wine has a hint of smoky flavor & a nice smooth finish. Would go good with a hardy .
SYRAH 2008 Also aged in American oak barrels, Syrah lover's will enjoy this wine. Fruity and spicy with a little sweetness at the finish. Locally grown. Limited stock.
* DOS EN UNO 2008 - Cab. Sauv./Syrah 50/50 blend Rock Canyon Vineyard's first blend. Not too sweet and like all our wines, finishes smooooth!

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
