Reverence is a feeling or demonstration of profound adoring awed respect. With our wines, we hope to honor two of California's oldest and most cherished grape varieties - Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Through sustainable agricultural practices and responsible choices throughout vinification, it is our intention to show reverence in every stage of our wines 'life cycle'.
Michael and Wendy Trotta founded Reverence Wines in 2004. Their goal is to make low production, high quality wines that exhibit the true character of the vineyards form which they came. Reverence for the winegrower's craft is furthered by low intervention winemaking techniques such as, hand punch downs and minimal processing.

Mike and Wendy met at Fresno State, in the Enology and Viticulure program. Mike began his career working in the cellars of Bernardus in Carmel Valley and Yalumba in the Barossa Valley of Australia. Since 2001, he has been a member of the winemaking team at Elyse Winery, where he was promoted to Winemaker in 2004. There, he crafts wines for the Elyse and Jacob Franklin labels, as well as consulting for Falcor Winery and Shifflett Estate. Wendy has worked in production at such Napa Valley icons as Dominus, Hyde De Villaine, Cain and Stagecoach Vineyards. Her winemaking experience is complimented by 15 years in fine dining service.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
