RainSong is a small family-operated vineyard and winery owned by Mike and Merry Fix. After serious searching for several years, we purchased 55 acres in this isolated valley in 1984. The site is comprised of a wonderful combination of meadow, pond, and woodland with a gentle southeastern slope. We have fine grape growing soil, Bellpine, and our elevation ranges from 500 to 800 feet.

We began planting the vineyard in 1985. We now have 9 acres of vines, 6 of which are Pinot Noir, with the
remaining acreage in Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.

In 1988 we built a small winery at the bottom of the vineyard. Our operation at RainSong is small, even by Oregon standards. We produce less than 1500 cases of wine per year. We have made the decision to remain
small. We enjoy the tasks involved with the operation of the vineyard and the winery and we want to stay intimately connected to both endeavors. By performing tasks ourselves, we can give personal attention to all aspects of wine production.

We offer a unique program here at RainSong, enabling groups to bottle and custom label barrels of our wines and barrels of northwest wines purchased specifically to offer at great prices.

It is our pleasure to offer to you the fruits of our labors, premium handcrafted varietal and sparkling wines and “Barrels of Fun”!

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
