Pug Wine was founded to create small lots of handcrafted ultra premium, single vineyard wines from California's best grape growig regions. We believe there is no reason to make wine from anything other than great fruit harvested at its peak.

Since its inaugural releases, Pug Wine has featured on two Sonoma County vineyards - Pug Pinot from Amber Ridge Vineyard and Pug Blanc, a Rhone style blend of marsanne and roussanne, from Saralee's Vineyard. These "cool climate" varietals reflect the unique soils and climate of the Russian River Valley. Each of these wines are handcrafted in very small lots and aged in French oak at the winery to produce wine that is well structured and vibrant in character.

In 2009, Pug Wine released its first Cabernet, Pug Cab. It was made from grapes grown in Napa County's Oakville region harvested in 2007. Great Cabernet comes from Napa County and this one is spectacular. Quite simply, great wine comes from great vineyards. We start with grapes grown in the finest wine regions of California which are harvested with care and at optimum maturity. We employ traditional winemaking methods, aging in French oak and with attention to detail from the vineyard to the bottle.

We bottle a range of varitals to suit all of your dining and entertaining needs. We hope you enjoy our wines as much as we do!

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
