Purchased in 1999, Perennial Vineyard's home is part of a 1860's dairy barn. Located in the rolling hills of Ohio's Amish country near Brewster, Perennial Vineyards became a part of Ohio's growing wine industry. Once the farm was purchased, Kim and Damon Leeman went to work renovating the barn, converting it into the main production facility and winery Tasting Room. The Cellar Room was built along with an outdoor patio area adjacent to the tasting room. During this time, grape vines were planted both at the farm and at another facility approximately 1 mile away (Planted in 1997).

Perennial Vineyards opened their doors in 2002 and quickly became a favorite for wine lovers. Along with their award-winning wines, a small menu of gourmet pizzas and appetizers can be enjoyed.

By 2008 the winery had grown significantly, most obvious is the change to the rooms. A new Straw bale Stucco Grotto (Cave-like structure) has been openned adjacent to the tasting room and two new patios were created. The wine can now be purchased at several restaurants and wine outlets in the area.

During 2009, the Leemans continued growing based on the popularity of their wines. A new
building was added to the barn for more production space and wine storage. The Vineyard Pavilion was expanded. Soon additional acreage will be developed into vineyards to expand Perennial Vineyards' wine making capabilities. Vidal blanc & chambourcin are the major plantings in the vineyard. Cabernet franc & Chardonnay are also being grown.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
