Most of the estate grapes are over 10 years old, and are in high demand from local winemakers. In 1998, Nicholas Palumbo purchased 7 planted acres and a home nestled in the hills of Temecula Valley Wine Country. Soon after, he purchased an additional 5 acres, planting Cabernet Sauvignon grapes on the day his daughter Sophia was born. This 5-acre site is now known as Sophia's Vineyard
Nicholas Palumbo, passionate Viticulturist and budding Enologist, believes in producing only what he grows himself. “I believe there is only two basic ingredients in making fine wines, the fruit itself and the barrels it ages in”. With one foot in modern techniques and the other foot firmly planted in tradition, the wines produced posses a depth and elegance that is becoming harder to find in California wines.
