Father Thomas X. Davis, Abbot of the New Clairvaux monastery, and Aimee Sunseri, fifth generation California winemaker, have combined their vision and passion for wine and history to create a unique and memorable wine experience.

In the words of Father Thomas, "Our order has a strong agricultural and wine making foundation dating back to the 12th century in Europe. Some of the finest vineyards in the world, such as Clos de Vougeot in Burgundy, France and Kloster Eberbach in the Rheingau, Germany have their roots in the Cistercian order. Our vision here at New Clairvaux is no less dedicated in creating a winery for the next 800 years."

In the words of Aimee Sunseri, "Vina has attracted many ambitious and successful people who believed with a passion that this land could produce extraordinary wine. Our vision is that together with the Trappist monks of New Clairvaux, using the historic wine cellars of Leland Stanford, and employing the knowledge of the past with the most modern techniques of grape growing and winemaking, we will produce extraordinary handcrafted wine that reflects the essence of what attracted so many to Vina in the first place."

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
