At Milliaire we are committed to producing small lots of wine from Sierra Foothill vineyards. Each vintage is hand crafted using traditional techniques. All our wines are marked by richness and balance and are finished and complete: inviting bouquet, balanced flavors and a smooth, lingering finish. Within this stylistic framework, each wine is able to develop its own personality.
Owner and winemaker Steve Millier received a degree in enology and viticulture from Fresno State in 1975. His first job out of school was as winemaker for the David Bruce Winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Milliaire’s first vintage consisted of three barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon and was cellared in the basement of the Millier family home in 1983. Quickly production grew and in 1990 the winery moved to Main Street in the small town of Murphys, CA. This location is currently our tasting room and was originally a Flying A Gas station. We look forward to having you visit the tasting room and sharing our family’s passion for delicious wines with yours!

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
