McClure’s Orchard is a family-run apple farm located north of Peru, on U.S. 31. Just over ten years ago, Paige and Jerry McClure (Mom and Dad) went looking for a new adventure. They happened upon an overgrown orchard, trees tall and full of suckers with a lawn unkempt, lonely and detached from its community. Throughout the sixty-acre spread, only one apple grew! That was then…

Since, we have worked hard to reclaim the orchard as a flourishing apple farm and restore it as a place within the community for everyone to enjoy. Whether folks come from town or are passing through the area, we hope they take the time to stop, stretch their legs and spend a few moments breathing in the country air.

During your stop, you’re bound to see at least one McClure. Dad is generally in the barn on the weekends cutting up apples and serving apple cider slushies to the kids. Mom is usually busy cooking something delicious in the restaurant, maybe a tender pork loin or a mouth-watering apple dumpling (be sure to ask for the cinnamon ice cream). Megan and Jonathan come home every once in a while to visit and help out when their schedules allow. If folks are extremely lucky, they might get to meet the two littlest McClures, grand-baby Kai and Auz! I spend my weekends with our furry and feathered friends, giving horse rides in the fall. Alison, though not quite a McClure (yet, but soon, stay tuned...), is the one keeping the rest of us in line.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
