Incorporated in 1986, Laurel Ridge is one of the oldest vineyard/winery sites in Oregon with a rich history. The winery was initially located just outside Forest Grove, Oregon. Northern Oregon's first winery was reputedly established there in the 1880's by German immigrants.

In 1974, long before Oregon had its booming modern wine industry, the owners of Laurel Ridge purchased a 240 acre farm just east of Carlton, Oregon. With perfect southern exposure, it looked like an excellent future vineyard site. As luck would have it, it turned out that the farm is in the heart of one of Oregon's premier wine growing regions. In 2001, they moved Laurel Ridge Winery into its new state-of-the-art, gravity fed winery.
