Classic finesse describes the style of Kelly Martin Cabernet Sauvignon. With only 300 cases produced in 2002 and 250 cases in 2003, our pursuit is one of rare quality and unique style among Stags Leap Cabernets.

Our style is distinct among ultra-premium Napa Cabernets, presenting significant contrast to other rare Napa wines which frequently follow one of two styles: tremendous boldness, where thoroughbred fruit is pushed to run hard, finding its outside edges of raw capability and startling the palate with its power; or a style of suspended refinement, where the fruit is reigned in to imitate French Bordeaux, requiring a subtle imagination to appreciate the quality of its source.

Instead of imposing a preconceived style upon our wine, Kelly Martin’s Cabernet has been persuaded to reveal its truest character which stems from its unique vineyard. Wine is made in the vineyard, where individuality is developed. As a premium vineyard within the Stag’s Leap district, Kelly Martin’s vineyard stands on the shoulders of giants.

Our steep hillside vineyard lies directly beneath the famed Stags’ Leap palisades and produces some of the most exceptional fruit from the appellation, characterized by pronounced fruit character, soft tannins and silky texture.

Winemaker: Celia Masyczek.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
