Nestled in the Valley of the Moon, Kenwood, California, Kaz Vineyard and Winery offers up something completely new for the adventurous souls. We are the smallest winery in the county that sells to the public and proud of it.

Here's what sets us apart...

We're a Real Family Owned and Run Establishment
Winemaker/Owner Richard Kasmier, a.k.a. Kaz is the brains and ego of he operation. He’s supported by his lovely-artistic-creative wife, Sandi, and their kids. The Kaz family creates all of their own labels, ads and even this website. Our humble winery/tasting room, in Kenwood, is typically staffed by one of the Kaz's.

Small Production
Our wines are made in small lots of one to four barrels. That's real dinky! We make just over forty barrels annually between our ports, pinks, whites and red wines. This pretty much makes us the smallest winery open to the public in the county! But we do have an amzing amount of different labels per year - 18 of them in 2006.

Unique Wines
We specialize in Complex Reds, Bold Blends, Rare Varietals (Counoise, Lenoir, Nebbiolo Rosa, Tannat, etc,) Ports like you’ve never seen (Red, white and blush!). On top of all of this we do a few other things that set us apart like adding low or no sulfites to our wines, farming organically and using wild yeast at times.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
