Hatcher Winery is located in the Sierra Foothills with the winery and tasting room in Murphys, and estate vineyard in Angels Camp.
Matt Hatcher, Winemaker, makes many different lots of wine; often these lots produce less than 200 cases and are available to wine club members only. The mission of Hatcher is best effort at all we do, compromise just isn't in our vocabulary. Matt’s commitment as an owner/winemaker is to work with the vineyard managers in growing premium fruit complimented by the best oak barrels to suit the wines. He manages the vineyard with the same level of integrity, producing the Estate Zinfandel that has been so well received
Our wines cover a wide spectrum of tastes and are reasonably priced. Current production is from fruit grown in the Sierra Foothill region. Our commitment is to this region, but when necessary, we will seek the best fruit from other areas as well. Matt’s winemaking style is still evolving as he learns new and innovative viticulture and winemaking practices to yield powerful, yet balanced, red wines, and white wines with classic aromas, rich textures and lingering flavors of French oak.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
