Ours are exclusive boutique wines, grown on the hillsides of Malibu. Picking begins at sunrise in the cool of the morning. Immediately after harvest, we ship chilled grapes to Etienne’s facilities in Santa Maria, CA for careful shepherding into a wine that expresses the fabulous potential of our Malibu site.
In 2005 we test marketed our wine, selling exclusively at John Selman’s “Malibu Village Wines” store in the heart of our town. Our extremely limited production Malbec sold out immediately. Our Chardonnay was swept off the shelves as fast as we could put it out!
John feels that the GFV Chardonnay shows what Malibu grape growing can achieve. Our grapes possess an elegance of fruit and a mineralogy that are possible only on specific sites along the Malibu Coast. He feels that in the coming years, with Etienne as wine maker, and with the increasing age of the vines, GFV Chardonnay will set the benchmark for the varietal on the southern Coast, and gain recognition for Malibu as a top source for Chardonnay, albeit in hard-to-get quantities.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
