ELKHORN RIDGE VINEYARDS & WINERY is located in the heart of Oregon's prime wine grape growing region, the Willamette Valley. We are dedicated to growing the finest Pinot noir grapes, and to producing the very best Pinot noir wine, which our vineyards allow us to do. This website will be in constant evolution, so please follow our progress. Keep enjoying Oregon Pinot noir!

In 2000 we planted our first 10 acres of Pinot noir, utilizing several different rootstocks and various Pommard and Dijon clones. We have planted the vineyard using very tight spacing (6' x 3.5') giving us a vine count of 2,074 plants per acre. In 2001, we planted an additional 11 acres using the same techiques, rootstocks and clonal mix. This gives us a total of 21 acres, out of the 57 acres that we have plantable, and will enable us to eventually produce approximately 2,300 cases of estate bottled Pinot Noir. In addition, we sell our grapes to four quality Oregon wineries, which they use in the production of their own Pinot noir blends. We are confident that our philosphy of producing only the finest Pinot noir grapes and wine, together with our many years of research and planning, have resulted in fine, elegant Pinot noir! We look forward to hearing from you soon and thanks for visiting our site!

In November 2004, we released our first Estate Bottled Pinot Noir, the 2003 which sold out in 2 months.

The vineyards are located just 20 minutes from Salem on Hwy 22, and an hour from Portland via I-5. From Monmouth south on Hwy 99, go 1 mile and make a right on Parker Rd. then, make a right on Helmick Rd. Then, proceed to Elkins Rd., make a left, and where Elkins curves, stay right, and proceed to Brateng Rd., turn right and go to the top of the hill. You will see a green water tank on the left, and you're there!!!! Welcome to ELKHORN RIDGE VINEYARDS & WINERY!!!

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
