A region steeped in agricultural history and international acclaim.

The diverse agricultural region of southern Oregon is home to a magnificent setting that supports three grape growing regions who boast a formidable number of wine grapes grown. Without any doubt the region, surrounded by mountain ranges, which are some of the most unique biologically diverse and oldest geologic formations on the west coast, is host to ideal conditions for its standing wine production. EdenVale wines are obtained from aristocratic vines, cultivated to perfection by select growers dispersed along the regions finest sites. Thanks to the exposure and positioning of the vines and to the ideal microclimates, with cold winters and hot and bright summer months, the richness of this “terroir” produces the signature reputation for the Rogue wine producing activity.

A Portrait...
Four Generations - A family with roots deeply in agriculture and production.

From the beginning of the twentieth century up until the present fourth generation, the Root family has been deeply involved in the region's agricultural industry, serving as a grower, packer, shipper to over two thousand acres of pears in the Rogue River Valley bound for destinations around the world. The EdenVale Winery facility and visitor center is located on property widely recognized as the birthplace of Oregon’s commercial pear industry at Eden Valley Orchards, which began in 1885, by Joseph H. Stewart. Amidst this significant historic setting surrounded by pear orchards, the Root family now concentrates on making the finest wines in southern Oregon, specializing in Syrah, Viognier, Cab Franc, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with the same passion and great care that has always been an important family tradition.

The small, family owned and operated production facility has a singular purpose to produce world-class, handcrafted wines. Our production system is continuously updated and monitored to ensure the each vintage is the best it can be.

Old Meets New in the Rogue Valley Appellation

The EdenVale Winery is located on some of the oldest agricultural property in the Valley. Now a signature wine and hospitality center, Eden Valley Orchards was founded in 1885 by Joseph H. Stewart, who is known as the father of the commercial pear industry in Southern Oregon. The entire property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been a hallmark of agricultural innovation and {1} graciousness since its pioneer beginnings in the Rogue River Valley, Southern Oregon.

The tradition continues—Eden Valley Orchards is a unique destination facility for wine lovers, history buffs, and a whole new generation of guests and visitors. Eden Valley Orchards is an example of the old and new in synergistic blend. Revitalizing pear-producing land for vineyards and refocusing on premium wine production, the business is committed to sustainable agriculture, historic preservation, and agricultural education in the heart of Southern Oregon’s wine country.

EdenVale Winery at Eden Valley Orchards is emblematic of Eden Valley Orchards’ new 21st century leadership in premium winemaking, education about wine and agricultural history. Introduced in 2003 with its first 2001 vintage, the EdenVale wines reflect experience, innovation, artisanship and integrity of quality and taste.

EdenVale Winery—“We hope you enjoy our wines with the knowledge that we are establishing a style and flavor profile unique to our winery but distinctive because of the superb growing conditions in the Rogue Valley Appellation”.

EdenVale wines' first vintage was 2001. We are honored and excited to participate in the fast-growing Oregon wine industry. As Oregon becomes more renown for its flavorful and robust wines, our goal is to do our part in achieving greater recognition by creating top quality, enjoyable wines

EdenVale has two tiers for our wine brand. Under our EdenVale label we have two blends - red and white- and two classic Oregon varietals -Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. These are small production, very well made classic wines --- and our most popular for weddings, parties, and reunions. They are handcrafted from select vineyards where each varietal is grown and cared for perfectly. These wines are available through our tasting room, select markets and restaurants.

Our premium-tier wines are under the Pear House Collection label. These wines are the more unique varietals to Oregon-- and again, selected as to location, clone and grower to gather the very best from Southern Oregon. This collection is comprised of Tempranillo, Cab Franc, Syrah and Late Harvest Viognier. These wines are available through our tasting room, on-line and in fine restaurants.

EdenVale features Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, Late Harvest Viognier, red and white blends. Located between Ashland and Jacksonville just off Hwy 99, follow the I-5 and county road signs for Eden Valley Orchards and Rogue Valley Wine Center.
