The Domaine de Valcolombe is a 12 hectare farm including 7 hectares of vines in the heart of the Appelation of Cotteaux Varois en Province. Its clay-silt and chalky soil, the availability of moisture and the very mild micro-climate give the Domaine an exceptional terroir. The Domaine has earned more than 100 medals in international, national and regional competitions over the past 10 years, making it one of the most recognized vineyards in France.

Everything possible is done to attain exceptional quality: high-density planting with the vines pruned, espalied and trained to ensure maximum exposure to the sun. The clusters of grapes are thinned to obtain maximum quality of the fruit rather than maximum quantity. While not certified as an organic farm, the wines are produced using only organic practices.

Valcolombe produces 6 complementary vintages from its wealth of 11 grape varietals: a rose, 2 whites (AOC Classique and a single varietal viognier) and 3 reds (AOC Classique, a single varietal merlot and the sumptuous Cuvee Baroque, aged in oak for 12 months.)

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
