The vision and mission of Cross Keys Vineyards was born of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of owners, Bob and Nikoo Bakhtiar. Natives of Persia, Bob and Nikoo came to the United States as students to pursue degrees in Business Administration at Florida State University and The University of Southern California, respectively. Bob's early career focused on sales and the Time Share industry in Florida and later as a lead salesman in the IT and Media Systems. He later became an executive with Great Eastern Resorts leading their sales teams to record revenues. Nikoo held the position of Controller with the Hotel Beverly Plaza and later as manager of her own accounting firm. Married in 1988, the Bakhtiars lived and worked in California until 1993 when they moved to the Harrisonburg area. The Bakhtiars have two sons, Saam and Babak. Their inspiration for Cross Keys was drawn primarily from the beauty of the land and a desire to create something of worth and significance. They hope to share their passions for the good life through their Estate wines and quality service and experiences at the winery.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
