In 1972, Sue moved to the Napa Valley where she founded California Wine Tours, a high profile business catering to small, exclusive groups interested in knowing more about winemaking and viticulture. That same year, 1972, Jim founded the Societé Joie du Vin, a wine tasting group in Los Angeles which has continued to meet each month these 36 years. Because of our serious interest in both food and wine, it has been our dream to make and bring to market an exceptional wine. So, in 2003, we purchased grapes from the Brix Vineyard which is owned by the Kelleher family. This highly sought-after and prestigious nine acre vineyard is in Oakville, the appellation of which The Wine Spectator’s Matt Kramer wrote the following praise: “this area creates the most reliably good wine – meaning Cabernet Sauvignon, of course – in Napa Valley.”
